Today we learned about personal bias. We read a variety of statements and tried to identify personal beliefs and biases.
After picking one of the statements that was read, write a reflection answering the following:
- identify which statement you would like to discuss (make sure I know what one you are talking about)
- comment on your initial response
- physical/emotional - embarrassment? anger? sadness?
- intellectual - rational response once you thought about it
- Comment on how your personal response made you feel? Surprised? aware? bigoted? Justified?
- How do you think you would respond in the real world if the same statement was made?
- Why might a person's reaction change (or not) over time given new experiences and understanding?
DUE WEDNESDAY.
